Set in the heart of the lake district, Loughs Mask and Carra, it is a centre of excellence for anglers of all persuasions. Peace and tranquility become hand in hand while trolling down the Cloon river and entering the panoramic view that is Lough Mask. Ghillies and fishing knowledge always on hand.

Partry is an environmentally sensitive area due to its proximity to the lakes, much of the area is designated Special Area of Conservation (SAC) or Natural Heritage Area (NHA).
 

Ballintubber is a mere 10 Km from Furnace. This is the home of the Abbey which dates from the 13th century and is the oldest Church which has been in continuous use in Ireland. It is possible to walk the pilgrim paths, the Tochar Padraig & the Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail, which pass by or close to the Abbey and finish at the base of Croagh Patrick
